    Sponsored by the Church of Scotland's Society, Religion and Technology Project to deal with the issues of genetic engineering.   It also provides definitions, history, links to articles about human cloning, ethical considerations, biotech concerns, etc.

    Integrated taxonomic information system
    An attempt to provide taxonomic information on plants, animals, fungi, and microbes of North America and the world.

    Marine Biology Web
    A guide to pertinent original literature dealing with marine biology. Includes links to marine laboratories, NOAA, etc

    This site provides information about the organization as well as sources of information (a searchable database) about rare and endangered species and threatened ecosystems.

    Nature Coservancy
    This site is primarily of interest to members of The Nature Conservancy.

    Online Mendelian inheritance in man - Select OMIN.
    The site deals with the inheritance of human characteristics and genetics.   The OMIN database contains links and allows searching for articles .

    U.S. Environmental Protections Agency
    This agency's web site provides current technical data, regulatory material, links to non-EPA servers, links to library holdings for other EPA libraries, etc.   Key word searches are available.   Includes added special features such as maps and emission levels

    An indexing source to locate places, societies, groups, taxonomic information, and herbaria .

    National Biological Information Infrastructure
    Contains a compilation of links organized into 8 different subject areas and provides descriptions of each site.

    Provides links to thousands of online resources.

    National Library for the Environment
    Provides links and stores full-text reports on a wide range of environmental issues. Also provides links to a law library, educational resources, directories, etc.

    Amphibia Web
    This web sites aims to become a clearinghouse of data concerning amphibians and their population deteriorations worldwide.

    Amphibian Information Web Site
    This site is devoted to bringing together all information pertinent to the decline of various amphibian species

    EMBL Reptile Database
    This site covers living reptiles including turtles, lizards, snakes, amphisbaenids, tattara, and crocodiles.   It is a checklist of the current names and synonyms for each species

    North American Mammals
    A Smithsonian site which focus on on US mammals and it can be searched by species name, family tree, conservation status, and location.   Each entry provides a map, illustrations, photos & basic facts.   Includes links.

    Petersons Online
    For those interested in birding.  It includes information on Peterson's Field Guides as well as a list of birding links and resources.
