Life contains many pleasures--and that reading literature is among the greatest of these is something I hope I communicate to my students.  Because learning never stops, I enjoy discovering unusual texts from the past that help us understand who authors of the past were and why we are who we are today.  Other loves in my life besides literature and teaching are my family, cats, film, drama, and the ocean.
