
This concentration provides for advanced studies of the theoretical constructs
necessary for strategic analysis, design, application, research, and evaluation
of a variety of media systems. It provides foundational preparation for graduate
studies in communications and a number of allied fields. All of our theory
classrooms are equipped with smart board technology to aid our students in
advancing their studies.

In addition to declaring an area of concentration (Film/Video, Graphic
Design, Interactive Media, Photography, or Professional Communication), the
Communication Studies student completes five theory courses, consisting of
four required courses and one elective. These may be taken as Phase III electives
in combination with Phase IV and junior-senior writing requirements.
